Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker.
In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, water, and salt until well combined.
Pour the mixture over the roast, ensuring the meat is evenly coated.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the roast is tender and easily falls apart.
Once done, remove the roast from the slow cooker, shred it slightly, and serve with your favorite sides.
Variations & Tips
For a bit of a kick, consider adding a teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes to the sugar mixture. You can also substitute half of the water with beef broth for a deeper flavor. If you prefer a less sweet roast, reduce the brown sugar to 3/4 cup. Vegetables such as onions, carrots, and potatoes can be added alongside the roast for a one-pot meal.
