Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven
Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). Grease a 23cm pie plate or use parchment paper for easy removal.
Step 2: Prepare the Crust
Roll out the pre-made pie crust and press it evenly into the prepared dish.
Trim any excess dough from the edges and pinch it to decorate if desired.
Set aside while you prepare the filling.
Step 3: Cook the Sausage
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the sausage until browned and cooked through, breaking it up as you go.
Drain any excess fat and set the sausage aside.
Step 4: Sauté the Vegetables
In the same skillet, cook the chopped onion and bell pepper until softened (about 5 minutes).
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
Step 5: Assembling the Pie
In a bowl, combine the cooked sausage, sautéed vegetables, grated Monterey Jack cheese, beaten eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
